The Begining

Yup, the begining always starts with curiousity and apprehension in my life. I started this "blog" so my family could read what is going on with me since I moved to Graniteville. As my kids have grown up they have less time to "talk with dad" and they have mentioned this form of media, so I am gonna give it a try and see how it fits. I have alot of little things that are going on with one big thing happening in my life at the present. Ashley, my daughter, is getting married........well when I think about it in detail I well up, yup the ole man is proud of his kid. I cant help remember the early years, she and I would take long walks and she always grab for my hand to hold. I still remember her tiny little fingers in my own. She was always inquisitive and to this day I can hear her say "Whats that daddy?" pointing at a twig, dog poop or whatever what was new to her. She has grown into a beautiful young lady, who has her whole future ahead of her. I envy that, I wish I could turn back the time of life and experience the next 20 years because its gonna be interesting. I am proud of the path she is taking, an honor student at UVM, going into the teaching profession, and has common sense, a rare attribute among todays youth. My years in college were a great experience for me but I never soared to the level she has, maybe it was all the keg parties that stymied me. Yup, I was an avergage student at best but she has soared to all kinds of accolades and along with her strong work ethic and well rounded life has made me proud. Our relationship has been stranded from time to time and this due to two stubborn mules meeting at the trougth wanting the first drink. She is aggressive, thoughtful and charming, she is not passive but is gentle, she speaks her mind but is aware of her sourroundings. She has become the woman she is because of her drive and fortitude. I look forward, as her father, to the next step on her journey and will always have her back.
Next my son...............
